ABOUT JB WOODWORKS PNW

JB WoodWorks PNW is a small woodworking shop. Our focus is on the woodlathe.

Everything is hand made in house. We work exclusively with locally and sustainably sourced reclaimed timber. Most commonly reclaimed from the firewood pile.

We put a heavy emphasis on using eco friendly and food safe finishes.

John Briggs, Woodworker

I was born  and raised in the Pacific Northwest. I grew up snowboarding, skateboarding, sailing, and fishing. I was in a car accident in 2008 that left me paralyzed from the waist down.

At the time of the accident, I was a journeyman electrician living on my small sailboat in Seattle. After the accident, I had a couple dark years but eventually met my wife at a dog training class and came back to the land of the living.

I went back to school, studying electrical engineering and experimenting with different forms of woodworking as a hobby. About halfway through my degree I decided to drop out of school and start a business around my true, new found passion, woodturning.

My wife is a nurse working at a hospital in Seattle, and a student in the University of Washington’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.

We live in Snohomish, Washington with our 3 dogs.
