This Maple bowl has some beautiful spalting lines and a great color.
The timber this piece was made from was taken down in Snohomish, Washington for home safety and was pulled from the firewood pile.
This piece was turned once, meaning that it was made while the wood was still wet and then allowed to dry. While it dries it organically warps leaving a completely unique piece. Maple doesn’t warp drastically when drying so the warping in this piece is subtle.
This piece is finished with a pure raw linseed oil and beeswax (pastewax) that I make in house. 100% food safe.
